Improve your health and quality of life with the help of the Y’s personalized wellness programs. You’ll achieve your goals in a comfortable, supportive environment that includes our cardio room filled with modern equipment: treadmills, elliptical machines, recumbent and upright bikes and stair climbers. And the three large TV sets have digital transmitters so members can listen to favorite programs via headphones. Interested in weight training? Check out our top-notch weight room with its universal and free weights.

Rodger Ramallo-Fernandez, our certified personal trainer, along with the Y’s fitness staff will offer you professional guidance - and help you get the results you want. They’ll help you utilize basic strength and conditioning to develop a solid foundation, increase exercise complexity to develop new capabilities and develop specific training methods to achieve long term goals.

The Sidney Offerman Gymnasium features a regulation-sized basketball court with six baskets and fiberglass backboards, plus an official volleyball court. Basketball is scheduled two nights a week and open co-ed volleyball is one night a week.

EXERCISE CLASSES

Pilates Mat: Our Pilates classes are focused on building a strong healthy body by promoting concentrated movement. Pilates combines your breathing rhythm with the movement of your body. This challenges your flexibility, balance, stability and strength.

Belly Dancing: Want to make workouts a lot more fun? Learn to belly dance and you’ll gain the satisfaction of improving your physical fitness and strengthening your body while enjoying a new form of self-expression. It can even relieve back pain!

Abs & Butts: Learn conditioning exercises for your torso and abdominal area. The course may include exercises for oblique, hips, butt and lower back.

Yoga: You’ll learn to tone, strengthen, and align your body using yoga postures called asanas. We’ll also use breathing techniques (pranayama) and meditation (dyana) to relax and discipline the mind.

Cardio Funk: Here’s the exercise class you could only dream about until now. Cardio Funk combines a great cardiovascular workout with dance. You won’t just improve your fitness, you’ll have a great time doing it.

Nia Dance: The NIA technique is a heart pumping fitness class that will make your spirit soar! NIA offers total body conditioning by combining simple choreography with rhythmic music that leave you sweating and smiling. It is designed for all levels of fitness, so JOIN US for NIA.

Kick-Boxing: This class combines cardiovascular kickboxing moves with intervals of strength training. You'll punch and kick your way up to progressively challenging multi-level drills and routines. Kick-Boxing classes develop physical skills such as flexibility, balance, power, coordination and agility.

Pilates: The focus of this discipline is to strengthen and stretch the abdomen and torso by solely using your body without external assistance. Technique involves proper breathing and control over various muscles.

Boot Camp: This class offers resistance training and a vigorous cardio vascular workout. Great for losing weight and getting in peak physical condition, this program offers an aggressive, military-style, circuit workout featuring medium-high-intensity conditioning.

Personal Training: Achieve your goals faster. With one-on-one personal training you’ll gain the knowledge, motivation, and confidence you need to achieve your fitness goals, whether it’s to lose weight, increase stamina, or build strength. The Y’s certified personal trainer customizes a safe, efficient program based on your current needs and fitness level.
