Extended Full Day Option NEW 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Full Day Program: 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Half Day Program: 9:00 - 11: 30 a.m. or 1:00 - 3:30 p.m.
Early Morning drop off: 8:15 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
Late Afternoon care: 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Ages: 2 years 9 months - 5 years 6 months

The Y’s Nursery School, which is registered with the NY State Department of Education and licensed by the Early Childhood Education Division, NYC Department of Health, provides individual attention to each child in a nurturing and stimulating environment. A vibrant curriculum focuses on the emotional, physical, social and intellectual development of each child.

We encourage the children to make choices, to interact with each other and to ask teachers for help in expanding their ideas and interests. The Nursery School follows a developmentally appropriate curriculum and supports each child moving at his/her own pace.

In order to meet the needs of working families, we now have an EXTENDED DAY OPTION for four year olds from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM with early morning drop off available starting at 8:15 AM.

The goals of the Nursery School are:

1. To contribute to the education and general welfare of children through supportive interactions between teachers, parents and caregivers.
2. To provide carefully designed learning environments that allow children to flourish at each stage of their development.
3. To provide an early childhood community that respects multicultural diversity.
4. To allow children to gain confidence in themselves, develop a love of school and to experience enthusiasm and competence in the learning process.

Facilities include large air-conditioned classrooms, a full-size gymnasium, state-of-the-art rooftop playground, and an indoor and outdoor play-space. All are designed to enhance motor skills, build self-confidence and foster independence. And throughout the year we offer special activities aimed at enriching the children’s experiences.

Round-trip supervised bus transportation is available; buses arrive at 9:00 a.m.and depart at 3:30 p.m.
